Is Ezra Miller in the NXIVM Cult?

The parents of 18-year-old activist Gibson Iron Eyes have accused actor Ezra Miller, 29, of grooming their child with cult-like behaviour. According to Dr. Sara Jumping Eagle and Chase Iron Eyes, Miller has been manipulating and controlling Gibson since the two met at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota back in 2016, when Gibson was only 12-years-old.

According to PEOPLE, Gibson’s parents stated in documents that Miller offered to pay for Gibson to attend college early at 16 at Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts. Miller would later use this against Gibson to create a sense of indebtedness.

When this story was first brought to my attention, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Ezra’s recruitment of Gibson and my own experience with being recruited by the NXIVM cult as a queer and disabled reconnecting Indigenous person.

I am a reconnecting Biawaisa (Two-Spirit) Taíno survivor who has been cyberstalked & harassed by the NXIVM cult and other affiliated alt-right organisations on social media since 2017 (possibly earlier) because of my intersecting identities and activism.

Both Gibson and I have been featured in the media in affiliation with the Women’s March.

I was unknowingly being recruited by actors Christopher Lambert (who can be found in Jeffrey Epstein’s little black book) and Diane Lane’s daughter, Eleanor Jasmine Lambert and her best friend Shelby Lorman, the author of the book and viral Instagram account @awardsforgoodboys.

Eleanor Jasmine Lambert (@ello_kitty) accidentally sent me my own photo of myself in May of 2020.

NXIVM

NXIVM is an American cult that engages in sex trafficking, forced labor and racketeering. Based in Clifton Park, New York, a suburb of Saratoga County, NXIVM purported to be a multi-level marketing company that offered personal and professional development seminars through its “Executive Success Programs” of large-group awareness training. The company is a recruiting platform for a secret society called “DOS” in which women are branded and forced into sexual slavery.

NXIVM has been infiltrating and co-opting the language of social justice movements through social media and activism in hopes of recruiting more members and getting their leader Keith Raniere out of prison.

MEMETICS

Many NXIVM recruiters are affiliated with Heterodox Academy, a group of 5,000+ professors, administrators, K-12 educators, staff & students who believe “diverse viewpoints and open inquiry are critical to research and learning.” They have representatives at colleges and universities all over the world. It is speculated to be a re-branding of Campus Reform, funded by the Koch Family.

Heterodox Academy uses memetics, the study of memes, to infiltrate marginalised communities and indoctrinate vulnerable people into the alt-right by using a behaviour changing technology called neurolinguistic programming. When I noticed that both Ezra Miller and Gibson Iron Eyes started responding to the grooming and cult allegations with memes, I looked a little deeper and here is what I found.

Ezra was paying for Gibson to attend Bard College, a private liberal arts college that has a network of over 35 affiliated programs, institutes, and centers, spanning twelve cities, five states, seven countries, and four continents. Bard College is home to the Bard Meme Lab.

According to their website, The Bard Memetics Laboratory, aka the Bard Meme Lab, “provides a space for examining online culture through the lenses of cinema and media studies, the experimental humanities, cognitive science, and the visual arts. By analyzing not just the content of memes but their very form, and through a focus on understanding meme creators themselves as artists, the Lab engages with the contemporary networked world to produce original research, publications, events, software, and other interventions.”

I have found plenty of mutual connections between students/writers/creators/researchers at the Bard Meme Lab and the influencers who were recruiting me for NXIVM.

DOG WHISTLES

NXIVM and affiliated alt-right organisations use many dog whistles to signal to each other, consisting of specific imagery, emojis, and terminology most wouldn’t notice unless you were looking for it. Here is a small list of some of the emoji dog whistles that are used:

Please note that just because someone is using these emojis, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is a dog whistle. Context matters.
NXIVM cult leader Nicki Clyne uses the lightning bolt emoji in her Instagram bio.

And here are the dogwhistles I found while skimming through Gibson’s following list on their instagram:

Cowboy emoji (Proud Boys/Girls)
Raccoon (Politically Homeless)
Possum (Politically Homeless)
Lightning bolt emoji (N*zi SS)
Lightning bolt emoji (N*zi SS)
Lightning bolt emoji (N*zi SS)
Lightning bolt emoji (N*zi SS)

Here is an example of Gibson sharing a meme with the image of Pepe the frog, the most popular alt-right symbol which has been declared a hate symbol by the ADL:

Here is an example of Gibson sharing an Instagram reel from The Wellness Therapist, Azadeh Ghafari, an Instagram account connected to the NXIVM cult that I have experienced ongoing harassment from:

Ghafari poses as a leftist progressive therapist, health professional, and QAnon cult expert on social media, however she is actually a Neo-Nazi who subscribes to the The Aryan Myth of Iran and works with NXIVM and Heterodox Academy to surveil marginalised communities and spread misinformation using Pastel QAnon tactics.

The peace sign on The Wellness Therapist logo is a V-sign, a hand gesture NXIVM cult members use to signal Victory and the Vow they have made to their Vanguard (cult leader) Keith Raniere.

VICE

Gibson follows a few instagram accounts connected to VICE, a Canadian-American magazine focused on lifestyle, arts, culture, and news/politics:

VICE
VICE i-D
VICE Impact

My recruiter Eleanor Lambert wrote this article about my other recruiter Shelby Lorman in VICE to bring more people to her platform. Many people affiliated with VICE, such as writer Roslyn Talusan and former senior editor Sarah Berman, have gone out of their way to participate in a smear campaign against me since I first began speaking openly about my experience. Their main goal appears to be to dismantle my credibility as a survivor of their abuse.

VICE was co-founded by the founder of the Proud Boys. The Proud Boys and NXIVM are affiliated organisations through Trump’s former advisor Roger Stone.

TARGETING OF INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

There is a clear pattern of NXIVM, Heterodox Academy, and affiliated organisations infiltrating Indigenous movements through many social media accounts such as the following:

These accounts are shown here because they have either elevated the work of astroturfing white supremacists (i.e.: @decolonizemyself often shares the work of Neo-Nazi Jay Marquis-Manicom Lesoleil) or they are connected to the same influencers who have been harassing me for speaking out against NXIVM, Heterodox Academy, and affiliated right wing organisations (such as The Wellness Therapist). Some of these accounts used to share my posts and even used to be social media mutuals with me before my first Instagram account @caitdissociates was mass-reported and banned.

I believe these accounts/organisations are either unknowingly infiltrated, or they simply exist to surveil and de-fang Indigenous social justice movements across social media.

WEAPONISATION OF IDPOL

Another tactic used by the cult is the weaponisation of identity politics when attempts of accountability are made. In this case Ezra has clearly coached Gibson in weaponising claims of transphobia against their loved ones in order to take attention away from the real matter at hand — the fact that Ezra has groomed Gibson into a cult by co-opting social justice language and activism.

You may notice that many celebrities and influencers will change their pronouns amidst controversy so that they can distract from their behaviour. It is a popular PR tactic that has been used by every single writer, influencer, and celebrity whose involvement with NXIVM I’ve questioned. They state they are <insert marginalised identity here> so they can’t possibly be a part of this cult and therefore I am racist/transphobic/you name it for even suggesting so. No one is immune to being indoctrinated into a white supremacy, no matter your identity.

Please note that I have only accused two white women, Eleanor Jasmine Lambert and Shelby Lorman, of recruiting me for NXIVM.

ROCKLAND COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL

Both Ezra Miller and NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere are listed as notable alumni at Rockland Country Day School, a private co-ed college-preparatory school located in Congers, New York.

In November of 2018 while discussing the #MeToo movement, Ezra told The Hollywood Reporter “‘Cause, like, we all knew it was unacceptable when we fucking survived it. That’s what Hollywood is. I thought we all knew we were sex workers.” Is it possible that Ezra was groomed and recruited by NXIVM while attending Rockland Country Day School?

WEAPONISATION OF MENTAL HEALTH

Cult members are trained in two-sided operations, where they pretend to be the friend of a victim while harassing them from other social media accounts anonymously — all while emotionally supporting them through it despite being the source of abuse. This is how members trauma-bond with their recruiters and other members of the cult. Keith Raniere’s incel beliefs and teachings paired with the fact that many influencers involved participate in suicide-baiting anyone who speaks out against the cult points to serious danger. The NXIVM cult is a suicide risk.

There is a serious lack of education around internet safety and cult tactics. Many of the current mainstream “cult experts” and people in tech who are supposed to be protecting our data are involved in cult indoctrination, unethical data collection, and targeted social media harassment themselves. I share my experience in hopes of reaching anyone who might not know what is happening to them yet.

***Update August 22, 2023: Ongoing Harassment and Urgent Insights***

Amplifying the Harassment: An Unsettling Reality

Since writing I first began writing about this in 2021, I have endured extreme online harassment from Clementine Morrigan’s cult following. Clementine’s partner Jay, and an account falsely portraying themselves as a healthcare worker @the.wellness.therapist, have armchair diagnosed me as schizophrenic and paranoid, despite receiving ongoing mental healthcare from qualified professionals for PTSD stemming from the ongoing cyberstalking and harassment.

Jay Marquis-Manicom “Lesoleil” (@cursed_cancellations) and “Azadeh Ghafari” claiming that I am schizophrenic and experiencing psychosis, a tactic commonly used to silence survivors of abuse.

Clementine’s Eery Admission of Tactics

Clementine has written in one of her Substack articles titled “You Don’t Have to Like Them but You Have to Love Them,” about the ease of employing calculated actions to harm others. She contemplates using burner accounts to spread slander and rumors, alluding to the ability to exact revenge on individuals. Astonishingly, this exact strategy has been carried out against me since naming her connection to the NXIVM cult. Here are the documented instances and a map of some of the cult members who have employed these harassment tactics against me (viewable on desktop only).

Excerpt’s from Clementine Morrigan’s substack article “You Don’t Have to Like Them but You Have to Love Themwhere she admits to revenge fantasties that eerily mirror the exact type of harassment I’ve experienced since pointing our her connections to the NXIVM cult over 2 years ago.

The Grim Trail of Evidence

The harassment campaigns I have endured are documented with alarming evidence. This ranges from the utilisation of multiple burner accounts adorned with blackface, to the creation of entire profiles dedicated to doxxing my Indigenous family and coercing me into suicidal thoughts. In this disturbing context, a crucial question surfaces: If Clementine stands by her principles, why does she not intervene as her cult following systematically harasses me? Moreover, the uncanny colour similarity between the profile picture of @the.wellness.therapist and the original Concordia University account @douconsideryourselfafeminist (along with similar behaviour and writing style) raises suspicions, considering the connection between Jay and @douconsideryourselfafeminist is what inspired me to dig deeper in the first place.

Post about @douconsideryourselfafeminist with the colour of their profile photo next to photo of @the.wellness.therapist’s instagram account. The profile photos are the exact same colour.

Unraveling Disturbing Connections: A Distinct Pattern

As further pieces fall into place, a disconcerting connection emerges: Jay Marquis-Manicom and the Instagram account @douconsideryourselfafeminist (“Sarah” from Montreal) are linked to the same Concordia University cohort. This revelation aligns eerily with the roots of “whistleblower” Sarah Edmonson, known for recruiting young women into the NXIVM cult, Queering the Map which documents the experiences and locations of LGBTQIA+ people across the globe, and Marc-Andre Argentino who coined the term/tactic Pastel QAnon. Additionally, my investigation reveals Clementine’s reliance on a dissertation authored by NXIVM’s marketing expert, Dr. Christine Marie, to substantiate her arguments against cancel culture. The intricate connections continue to multiply.

A Complex Web of Manipulation: Azadeh Ghafari @the.wellness.therapist

@the.wellness.therapist claims to be Iranian psychotherapist Azadeh Ghafari and works at UCLA, cited in books and articles about NXIVM and cults. However, I was notified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that Azadeh Ghafari is not is not a public entity, providing health and social services as she claims, and I was also informed by UCLA that she is not employed there.

Letter from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights stating that Azadeh Ghafari is not a public entity providing health and social services.
E-mail from UCLA Staff Diversity and EEO Compliance Office stating that Azadeh Ghafari does not work for UCLA.

Unveiling Disturbing Agendas: Shielding Abusers

Beyond the realm of harassment and manipulation, a stark reality emerges: Clementine Morrigan’s actions may serve as a diversion, shielding celebrities and powerful individuals who seek to evade accountability for their racism and sexual abuse. This sinister tactic aims to silence marginalised voices, preventing them from voicing complaints against these wrongdoings.

Challenging the Manipulative Strategy

By delving into the intricate layers of manipulation, it becomes clear that these actions are not isolated incidents. They form part of a broader strategy aimed at protecting the interests of those who perpetuate racism and abuse. The urgency to continue questioning, probing, and advocating for accountability remains undiminished.

As this unsettling journey unfolds, it’s imperative to remain vigilant against attempts to manipulate narratives and divert attention from crucial issues. By exposing the truth behind these calculated tactics, we stand a chance to disrupt the cycle of abuse and exploitation that threatens to persist unchecked.
